Our soul winning passage from the Word of God today is 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 which reads: “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.”
Our soul winning quote today is from Leighton Ford. He said: “I find that almost everyone I have ever talked with has been willing and often eager to talk about spiritual things if he can do it in a relaxed, nonthreatening situation.”
Our soul winning devotional is part 80 of our series titled “What Evangelism Is” from Dave Earley and David Wheeler.
Evangelism Is…Sharing Jesus Without Fear (Part 3)
The book of Acts is the story of Christ followers’ boldly sharing their faith in the midst of intense persecution. For example, after being arrested, beaten, and warned not to say anything else about Jesus, Peter and John asked the church to join them in prayer. Did they pray that the persecution would lessen? No. Instead they prayed for more boldness to share Jesus. Acts 4:29 says, “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word.”
In the next chapter Luke tells us that the apostles were again facing persecution for sharing the gospel. These men were unafraid to obey the command to share Jesus regardless of the circumstances.
